A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 11 a.m. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 905 Decatur St., Watkins Glen.Also surviving: brother, Richard (Patti) Hoffman; grandchildren, Rebecca, Sebrena, Dakota, Jonathan, Lucas, Olivia, Collins, Kiara, Jalen, Jordan, Aleeyah Georgina, Lily, Jesse, Sophia, Adalyn, and special granddaughter, Emma; great grandchildren, Milah, Lebryn and Bailey; and many nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by his brothers, Wayne, Steve and Fred Hoffman. Formerly of Montour Falls, NY, died on Friday, December 15, 2017 at his home in Lexington, KY. He worked for both salt companies in Watkins Glen, worked in construction and retired after 20 years of service for St. Nick is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Lou (Conte) Ruvolo; daughters, Lori (Rocco) Zingaro of Webster and Linda Mizerak of Watkins Glen; his grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie) Mizerak of Long Island, David (Ned) Mizerak of Watkins Glen, Tyler (Nicole) Mizerak of Watkins Glen, and Matthew Lusardi of Rochester; and Nick’s beloved great grandchildren, Carter and Elizabeth Mizerak and soon to be Trenton Joseph Mizerak.
A graduate of Odessa-Montour Central School and Tri-State College (Angola, Indiana), he was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was employed for many years by Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Horseheads, NY. A full military service and burial will be held at Woodlawn National Cemetery, Elmira, NY in July. Age 83, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. Nick had a special bond with his brother-in-law Sante Conti, sister-in-law Sally (Murphy) Conti, and their daughter Shelly.
George is survived by his wife, Paula; and his children, Jamie (Tara) Hoffman, Carla Myers, Brad Hoffman, Amber (Marvin) Davis, Christopher (Lindsey) Hoffman, Rachel Hoffman and Michael Hoffman.
In addition to his seven children, he had also taken in Mackenzie Moore, Matt Smith, and many more children who were a part of his life and who he considered his own.
He looked forward to his weekends of tractor pulling, and seeing all of his tractor pulling families.
