The study looked at primary characters in the top 45 grossing children's animated films and compared them to primary characters in the top 90 grossing adult dramatic films.
While children's movies are oftentimes more colorful and funny than their R-rated counterparts, the researchers conclude that they're "hotbeds of murder and mayhem" and not, as many believe, "innocuous alternatives to the gore and carnage typical of American films." Who knew?If Cal-Osha takes no action, a resident can file a civil lawsuit against the suspected adult filmmakers. It could mean a loss of millions or tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue from the porn industry if they move out of state. It would also cost a few million to administer and enforce the law. It started in 2012 when voters in LA County approved Measure B which is basically like Prop 60.Some major porn production companies are opposing the measure. Also against the proposition are the California Democratic and Republican parties, and the Adult Performer Advocacy Committee, an organization of adult film performers. A vote FOR Prop 60 means “yes” the state should regulate and license the porn industry and be sure condoms are used. A NO vote means there would be no change to current adult film regulations.• Permits state, performers, or any state resident to enforce violations.
• Likely reduction of state and local tax revenues of several million dollars per year.
Requires performers in adult films to use condoms during filming of sexual intercourse.
• Requires producers of adult films to pay for performer vaccinations, testing, and medical examinations related to sexually transmitted infections. H., Professor UCLA School of Medicine PAULA TAVROW, Ph.
A resident who suspects a violation of the law can also notify Cal-Osha.
Cal OSHA -- that’s the agency that regulates work place safety -- would be in charge of administering and enforcing the law.
• Increased state costs that could exceed $1 million annually to license and regulate adult film production and to enforce workplace health and safety rules.
